Dr. Heather Butler
Heather Butler MD is a diplomat of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has been in private practice for 29 years. She’s is a graduate of Tulane Medical School and completed an Internal medicine residency and Dermatology residency at LAC/USC Medical Center. Although she is Board-Certified in both specialties her practice is limited to Dermatology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology along with other professional affiliations including Los Angeles Metropolitan Dermatologic Society, California Dermatologic Society and the Pacific Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Sara Gaspard
Dr. Sara Gaspard attended the University of California, Berkeley where she received a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology with an emphasis in Cell and Developmental Biology. Her education continued at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, and graduated “with highest distinction”. She was awarded membership in the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
She completed her internship at Huntington Hospital, Pasadena, and finished her residency in dermatology at nearby LAC+USC Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. With deep ties to the local community, she remains dedicated to serving the people of Pasadena.
Dr. Gaspard cofounded the Comprehensive Dermatology Center of Pasadena with a goal of helping people achieve a vibrant appearance and feel confident about their skin. She is highly trained in the latest non-surgical techniques in cosmetic dermatology, injectables, fillers, chemical peels, and sclerotherapy for leg veins.
In addition, Dr. Gaspard is an injector trainer for Allergan, Galderma and Revance, teaching advanced injection technique to her colleagues. She is certified to use advanced laser technologies including photofacial, hair removal, redness reductions and facial resurfacing and rejuvenation. She is a diplomat of The American Board of Dermatology and is experienced in cutaneous medical disorders, skin cancers, and skin cancer prevention.
Dr. Gaspard is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at USC, providing didactic and clinical training for the residents in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Scott Gaspard
Scott Gaspard, MD, is a double board certified surgeon who has lived in the Pasadena area his entire life. He attended USC medical school and did his general surgical residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care at UC Irvine Medical Center and has been in practice in both university and community settings since. He has advanced training in Thread Lift and injecting and is excited to join CDCOP to offer these procedures to our patients.
Dr. Han Lee
Dr. Han Lee is a cofounder of the Comprehensive Dermatology Center of Pasadena, dedicated to providing exceptional care in a tranquil and state-of-the-art setting. Her foray into private practice is a recent departure from her role as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where she served for nearly a decade. She is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and has successfully treated thousands of skin cancers using Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a specialized technique for the removal of skin cancers with the highest cure rate. She has a reputation for paying meticulous attention to reconstruction for optimal cosmetic results. Dr. Lee continues to teach residents and medical students and has remained on staff at USC as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, regularly giving lectures on skin surgery and reconstruction, as well as cosmetic and laser procedures. Dr. Lee has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, and coauthored the textbook titled “Color Atlas of Cutaneous Excisions and Repairs,” which has been translated into Portuguese and Korean (Cambridge Press, 2008, 2010, 2011). She has served on the boards of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She is a consultant for ABC News, the Los Angeles Times, and various skin care journals.
She served as Chief Resident during her residency and completed her fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. She graduated with highest distinction from UC Irvine College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society as a third-year medical student. Prior to medical school, she attended Stanford University, where she graduated with honors and distinction. While at Stanford, Dr. Lee received the Firestone Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Lee’s academic interests include skin cancer, dermatologic surgery, reconstruction, acne, melasma, lasers, cosmetic botulinum toxin, and dermal fillers for minimally-invasive aesthetic rejuvenation. Her personal interests include spending time with her family and improving her tennis game. She lives with her husband and their three daughters in Pasadena and feels fortunate to spend her days caring for the dermatologic needs of the Greater Los Angeles community.
Dr. Neda Black
Neda Black, MD, is a double board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who is highly trained in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
After graduating with High Honors from the University of California Berkeley with degrees in both molecular & cell biology and public health, Dr. Black earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Here, she was elected valedictorian for achieving the highest academic achievements of her medical school class. She received numerous other accolades and awards, including Highest Distinction, the American Medical Women’s Association Academic Achievement Award, the American Medical Association Clinical Award, and the American Medical Association Research Award. She was also inducted into the prestigious national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Black subsequently trained in dermatology at the University of Southern California, where she served as Chief Resident. Here she received extensive training in medical, surgical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology. She went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in dermatopathology under the direction of Loren Golitz, MD at the University of Colorado Denver. This extra training has allowed her to develop special expertise in the diagnosis of skin cancer and skin disease.
Dr. Black has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology. Her research generally focuses on skin cancer prevention and melanoma detection, and it has been frequently cited in the popular press such as NPR, BBC News, Forbes, Huffington Post, and Medscape. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology. She is also on staff at Huntington Hospital.
Dr. Black feels privileged to have the opportunity to care for her patients. As a dermatologist, she loves being able to educate her patients about their skin and to help them look and feel their best. In her free time, Dr. Black enjoys an active lifestyle, including hiking with her husband, son, and black lab.
Dr. Courtney Rubin
Courtney Blair Rubin MD, MBE, FAAD is a board certified dermatologist who practices general dermatology. After graduating from Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, she completed her dermatology training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident. She then practiced clinical dermatology as full time faculty at the Brigham and Women’s Department of Dermatology, and as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. She is thrilled to return to Pasadena, California to serve the community where she grew up; Dr. Rubin is a graduate of San Marino High School and was a Tournament of Roses princess in 2008.
Dr. Benjamin Tran
Dr. Benjamin Tran is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in pediatric and adult dermatology and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Tran completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and also earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency at Georgetown University, where he trained at esteemed institutions such as Children’s National Medical Center, the National Institutes of Health, and Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Tran is passionate about cosmetics and aesthetics in Asian skin and completed a preceptorship in Hong Kong with Dr. Henry Chan, MBBS, a nationally recognized laser expert. Dr. Tran also has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
A member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Dr. Tran has presented at national and regional dermatology conferences and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals including Dermatologic Surgery and The British Journal of Dermatology.
As a technology enthusiast, Dr. Tran is interested in medical innovation and artificial intelligence, consulting start-up companies to improve care and access for patients. Outside of dermatology, Dr. Tran enjoys traveling, playing golf, and trying new restaurants.
